Control frameworks

Control frameworks translate regulations into clear, actionable controls. When you apply a control framework to a Workspace, you make its controls available in the Workspace's use cases. A framework contains multiple controls that address different aspects of AI governance.

Components

Controls

Controls are actionable translations of a policy requirement. In use cases, provide evidence that your use case is addressing this control through checks and/or supporting evidence. Each control belongs to a specific stage of the use case.

Checks

Controls can consist of one or multiple checks. Checks automatically confirm when actions contributing to a control’s implementation are complete.

For example, checks can:

  • Verify that a Deployment has a model card available
  • Confirm that a Deployment uses a private repository
  • Validate that you evaluate at least 50% of predictions made in the last 7 days

Available frameworks

We provide several default frameworks pre-configured with relevant controls:

  • Responsible AI (currently available): Helps you use AI responsibly in high-risk use cases
  • ISO/IEC 42001 (coming soon): Aligns with international AI management system standards
  • EU AI Act (coming soon): Supports your compliance with EU AI regulations

We maintain and regularly update these default frameworks to reflect current best practices and regulatory requirements. You cannot edit or delete these default frameworks, ensuring you always have standardized governance options.
